In 1991 in her farewell Shiloh Shepherd™ Newsletter,
Tina noted:
They
say no man is an island, well, no woman is either!!! I have
carried the entire load for the welfare and advancement of this
breed on my shoulders for a long, long time! Yes, there have
been "satellites" and others that have helped along the
way but the burden was always all mine! Now I can see that
burden lifting--because there's so many other people out there
that wanted to team up and carry these dogs through to the end
of the race--and far, far beyond!!
If she only knew what was in store for her
and the breed…
Just for the record, prior to casting your
vote during this election, you may want to take a second look at
former board members and officers of the SSDCA.
The Shiloh Shepherd™ Dog Club of America
(SSDCA) was incorporated in July, 1991 with the following

of Tina. However Jim Dawson, Susan Hogue, Mary Ann
Ducker, Marie Ruby and Griffen Reed left in

campaign statements from each candidate were printed
in the March '96 newsletter. All the newly elected Board
members other than Lisa Barber resigned by the end of
the year due to insurance liability concerns. Dana Russe
is no longer involved with Shiloh Shepherds™.
Julie Jajowka (aka JRiker) is outspokenly against the
breed. Gale Richardson and Jerry Pack are
breeding outside of the ISSR. Gary Allison formed the
ISSDC and the ISSDCr. Wendy Fullerton became
secretary of the ISSDC and helped form the ISSDCr,
returned during the Amnesty and left again in 2004,
helping to lead the failed effort to have Shiloh
Shepherds recognized by the
UKC. |

In January 1998, the SSDCA was revived.
The following board members were appointed by Tina Barber to
serve as directors until the next scheduled election, August
1999. The board members passed an amendment to the Constitution,
which was ratified by membership vote in August, 1999, that
the elected members of the board of Directors would from
now on be referred to as the ADVISORY BOARD, and would hold no
liability for any club affairs. Their responsibility was limited
to the representation of the desires of the general membership.

Where are some of these people today? What
are they doing now? Why? Think about it—investigate—what were
their goals? Why? What good have they done for our breed? What
lofty goals have they achieved? How have they benefited the well
over 1000 members who are no longer with the SSDCA? Why did so
many good people leave our club in less than a decade?
Think long and hard! Let’s not allow
history to repeat itself!
